Firefox Hint: Remove Mispelled Words From Dictionary
1. Open your application data folder. On XP or Vista, go to your Start menu and hit Run (or just press Windows-R) and paste in %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles. on your Mac, navigate to ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles. On Linux navigate to ~/.mozilla/firefox/
2. Find your profile folder, which by default should look something like xxxxxxxx.default.
3. Inside your profile folder, find the file called persdict.dat and open it up in your text editor of choice.
4. Now just find the misspelling, delete it, and you're done.

Jott, Even Better Than Oh, Don't Forget

A month or so ago I raved about the website Oh, Don't Forget for its ability to send you reminders. Now I have found something even better - Jott. With Jott you create an account linking to your phone number and email address, meaning that you can get reminders through either medium. To setup a reminder you can either login to the website and enter the details or you can call their 1-800 number, which knows you by your phone number, and speak the details which it will decipher. If it can't decipher it don't worry because it will save the audio for you to listen to an decipher yourself. This has been a life saver the last few days....Needed to remember to call a company to come fix my car windshield. Done. Needed to remember to shower before going to work. Done. Really this new service has been amazing for me.
The best feature of Jott I have saved until the end. You can save contacts (name, email, phone) in your account at Jott.com so when you make a reminder you can send it to them. Here is an example - Say I have my fellow blogger Walter as one of my contacts on Jott with his name, phone number and email. Let's say I want to remind him on my birthday that he needs to buy me lots of presents...easy. I call the 1-800 number, it asks me who I want to Jott, I say Walter, it asks me what I want to Jott, I say buy Simon lots of presents, it asks me if I want it to be a reminder, yes and give it a day and time. Done, he gets an email and text message on my birthday and I get lots of presents. Of course you could do it via internet as well.
This is a great application for anyone who leads a busy life and I can see myself using it a lot. I think it would be perfect for that busy Mom scheduling stuff between kids school, kids activities and the rest of the craziness in her life. It would also be great for a busy Dad who needs to schedule tasks outside of work. Or great for that busy college student! I recommend it to all

CD Wall Tiles

This is another reason why I will not sellout to iTunes and the digital music industry just yet. I love all the CD art that I get with my CDs, and wouldn't have it any other way!

Beamz: Worst infomercial, lame product!
That's right, Beamz is a laser guided music maker for the 40-50 something year old guy who wants to take his manual dexterity to the next level. I guess the rad shades and Perry Como attire aren't included. Bummer! That was kind of a selling point for me.

Cool New Start-Ups On The Web

Twitter - Definitely not new as I think I have been a member for about a year now. Idea is pretty cool, you just update "what are you doing?" with links, thoughts, stories or just what you are doing. The info goes out to all your friends that are following you. Unfortunately, I don't have any friends that belong so it is kinda hard to get into Twitter. My Twitter Account

Pownce - In the same spirit as Twitter, Pownce allows you to post a note, link, image, video, file, event that will be shared with all your friends that follow you. This recent start up is co-founded by Digg and Diggnation extraordinaire Kevin Rose. I personally like the look and feel of Pownce more than Twitter but once again it is hard to get into it since I have no friends on it. My Pownce Account

FriendFeed - This new start-up mashes all your accounts into one feed including Facebook, Digg, Twitter, personal blog and more! You then share your account with your friends on FriendFeed. This is a great way for you and your friends to keep up on what you are doing on the web. Great idea but yet once again I have no friends so not as cool as it could be.My FriendFeed Account

SocialThing - Similar to FriendFeed but mashes up some different and some similar accounts. Right now this start-up is in the invite-only stages of its Beta-ness and there are only a few accounts that you can mash including Facebook, Pownce and Twitter. I like the layout and look of SocialThing more than FriendFeed but it doesn't have as much to offer. I still have 2 invites left so post a comment with your email if you are interested. No account info and yes, no friends either

Muxtape - This a cool new music site where you can upload your own music to make a personal mixtape. I think you can only upload around 12 songs but the thought is really cool! Once you have uploaded all your songs, organize and share it with your friends. This is a great way to learn about new music. Here is my muxtape that I threw together real quick and since I have no friends . I tried to follow the rules given by John Cusack in High Fidelity so let me know what you think and send me your muxtape!

Mint - This handy new start-up (though it has been out for awhile) helps you organize your finances and helps you zone in on where you can cut spending. You simple give the tool your online bank account, credit card, etc credentials and it generates report and ways that you could save. Very cool, plus I don't need any friends! Sorry no account information ;-)

Qik - This start-up is still in Alpha but looks pretty cool. The idea is streaming live video from phones. I am not sure how much I would get into this one but I think the idea is cool. Right now it only supports Nokia phones. Since it still is in Alpha I do not have an account and plus I don't have any friends
So please join in and Twitter with me, Pownce me, Be my friend on FriendFeed and/or SocialThing, send me your Muxtape, enjoy Mint and get ready for Qik! Are there some new start-ups out there that you use? Please send me links!

Cheese Nips, not the cracker!
Yes, cheese made from human breast milk. It's definitely not the most tantalizing food creation I've ever encountered, but hey who am I to judge. This 'delicacy' comes from French factories where they must have people who milk female breasts or maybe it just comes out of the breast as cheese. Which in that case is gross.Hey, some choice hormones and time and I could have my own cheese making tits and be that much closer to a fully self sufficient man. Exciting isn't it!!

Could Google & Skype Put An End To The Mobile War?

Power Play: Android and Skype
Is Google getting ready to end the need for costly mobile phone minute plans and create a major upset in the mobile carrier industry? Their coming handsets could be game changing for giving users more power over their mobile handsets, but is Google could also be going after the carriers.
This week Techcrunch broke news that Google and EBay are in talks about a Skype acquisition or partnership deal. Michael Arrington postulated that Google could be working to integrate their Grand Central, GTalk VOIP and other Voice services such as Google 411 to the Skype community. These services are all complimentary and could be a natural fit for the Skype community. The VOIP market has not seen substantial growth as people have become more reliant on the cell phones. While it’s currently possible to run Skype on some mobile phones, it has yet to come into the mainstream.
Check out the rest.
Google Android and Skype are a match that’s made for each other. Android handsets are poised to spread like wildfire across the open source and developer communities upon release. Since it’s built on linux, it should be stable enough to run VOIP applications with ease. Combined with Grand Central, you would be able to get your calls and messages anywhere. This means that you can have a fully functional Android phone with Skype and never need a monthly minutes plan.
The mobile network operators have carried on the status quo of charging separate monthly fees for voice and data plans for long enough. Just like we went from paying for long distance telephone calls to one monthly fee, why can’t our mobile phones do the same for voice and data?
Do you think Google and Skype could take over the Mobile industry by offering Skype services for free? I do! And I can't wait for it to happen!

Russian Nesting Stripper Dolls, Whaaat!
So strangely naughty! I'm waiting for the Russian Nesting Vodka glasses. Here is the formula according to Walt!- One for a car accident or eviction!
- One for a long day at work and fight with the missus (or lack there of).
- One for a death in the family (can be used for sadness or celebration).
- One to get blitzed for no reason at all.
- Another One to get blitzed for no reason at all.
